What To Do About Ear Wax (Cerumen)

Sometimes, addressing hearing loss can be as straightforward as ensuring your ears are free from blockages. Earwax has the potential to become impacted, exerting pressure on the eardrum and consequently affecting your hearing.

Earwax, known as cerumen, is a natural waxy substance secreted within the ear canal. It serves a crucial purpose—cleaning and shielding the ear canal's skin from debris, bacteria, and moisture. Over time, this wax may accumulate in the ear canal, solidify, and become trapped, despite your best attempts at self-cleaning. Unfortunately, using a cotton swab can inadvertently exacerbate the situation by pushing the wax deeper into the ear. While you might not be aware of this buildup, it can lead to temporary hearing impairment. Rest assured, our experts can safely remove excess earwax.

While suffering with tinnitus, and looking for relief, I met with Dr. Duchardt for an evaluation.    She performed my testing, provided great information, and suggested hearing aid information.    I was able to try various pairs before making a purchase.   I (and those around me) are very happy with the results.
